Apple
Network Managers Association
Mission Statement
The network manager is responsible for guiding end users
and management in the appropriate combination of hardware, software
and procedures to perform a task efficiently. Usually working alone,
the network manager finds that magic combination by intelligence,
persistence and at times, luck. Simply put, network managers are
heavily relied upon to lead the way for their user communities.
When contemplating the investment into new products, struggling
with the myriad of bugs associated to existing products, or working
to solve an organizational problem, an essential tool at the network
professional’s disposal is his group of peers. Wouldn’t
it be a value for the network manager to talk with someone who may
have been down the very road in which he or she is struggling? Better
still, how about an entire community of technical professionals?
The goal of the Apple Network Managers Association (ANMA) is to
create such a community. Each month we have an open and frank discussion
about the real-world problems we face. We focus on the solutions
we have tried, the products we liked or the ones we didn’t.
We also have formal presentations by our membership and by manufacturers
like PowerOn Software, Maxum, Apple Computers, Cisco and others.
These presentations are given by technical professionals from the
real world and are short on marketing hype. This gives us a valuable
forum for feedback and technical awareness.
By building a technical community, we hope to grow both personally
and professionally in an openly collaborative environment. And in
addition to our monthly meetings, we have available to our members,
a Web Based forum so information and inquiries can flow in real
time with no waiting.
Contact the network group and let us know if you're interested.
